PLU000 - Plumbing Maintenance Assessment
This assessment measures the student’s knowledge and technical skills necessary to complete job assignments related to the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components. Specifically, components related to the anatomy of a plumbing system; different types of pipes; repairs at kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, tubs, showers, and toilets; water heater repairs; water softeners & treatment; recirculating pumps & sump pumps; drain cleaning techniques; minimizing foul smells; thawing frozen pipes; winterizing plumbing components; and correcting noise problems. Other topics include diagnosing and repair procedures, planned maintenance activities, health and safety inspections, etc.
Preserving test integrity is critical to the academic standards of AC/C TECH programs; therefore, all pre-assessments are closed-book proctored tests. Students may complete assessments via the internet if monitored by a divisional supervisor, or by a person of higher-level.
