Wx101 - Indiana Home Energy Conservation Contractor Training
This course is designed for individuals who possess a background in energy efficiency, or HVAC, or residential construction, and have an interest in contract work with the State of Indiana Home Energy Conservation Program. It contains direction for those seeking certification of skills. It also address questions and problems associated with the Indiana Field Guide. Specifically, the students will learn [1] the Wx (weatherization) process, [2] building models, [3] health and safety, [4] heating, [5] airflow, and [6] insulation. By the end of the program, the students/contractors will have acquired the necessary knowledge to make repairs and improvements deemed necessary by individual energy audits. Also, they will possess a firm understanding of energy saving tips which can be shared with clients. This course is available both online and in-classroom; however, twenty (20) hours of in-class training is mandatory which can be completed in 2½ days at various locations throughout the state.
